The walls, panels and ceilings of our bike lockers are designed to connect in many different configurations.
They fit together easily because we laser cut all of the standard holes needed to assemble and install the locker.
Once laser cut, the parts for our locker frames need to be bent into a 90-degree angle to make the frame rigid.
This is done on an exceptionally accurate 125 ton Press Brake with 6+1 axis. Computer-controlled, each part is bent to perfection by this impressive machine.
Laser Welding is a new technology to the metalworking industry and we are one of the first factories in Canada to make it the core technology we use in assembly.
As it’s name suggests, a high-powered laser beam is used to generate sufficient heat to weld two pieces of metal together.
The key benefit to using laser welding is that it’s a much cleaner process. It leaves no welding spatter behind, requires no post-weld grinding, and overall reduces smoke and dust in our workspace by over 90%.
So … we were playing with our laser cutter one day.
